Discussing the impact of AI on people and society at AI-DAY 2018

In the last 12 months the proliferation of AI has become visible in every aspect of society around the world and across New Zealand.

Conversational AI and Personal Assistants have been in the media weekly. Companies like Targetbase have rewritten their marketing platform using Microsoft Azure and the Cortana Intelligence Suite.  And New Zealand company FaceMe has not just shown us the future of Digital Assistants but made it accessible to leading consumer brands around the world.

Corporate adoption of AI and Machine Learning is increasingly wide spread across New Zealand. There are countless case stories and examples for New Zealand’s C-Suite to draw inspiration from. From computer vision in health and safety, cancer detection and pest eradication to machine learning and better Customer Insights, streamlining business processes in legal and accounting firms and conversational AI answering important questions at home and work.

Meanwhile, Data and Privacy concerns are at the forefront of our minds as countries like China roll out AI-driven citizen surveillance, GDPR regulations take effect in Europe (with global implications) and devices listen and record every moment of our lives.
